When the Aurora Circus came to the town of Wierzbowo, nobody expected ordinary school afternoons to be turned into a real adventure. The announcement of its arrival had appeared a few days earlier at the bus stop: "Aurora Circus - one evening, hundreds of wonders!". For Lena and Igor, fourteen-year-old friends who had long been looking for something to break them out of their routine, this was the news of the year. On the day of the show, the whole town smelled of candyfloss and popcorn. From the outside, the Aurora Circus tent resembled a huge, shiny bubble that was completely out of step with the grey reality of Willow. Lena, always curious and a bit feisty, pulled Igor by the sleeve through the crowd of onlookers. As they crossed the threshold of the tent, the lights immediately dimmed and the quiet sound of bells rang around them. The circus director appeared in the arena - a tall man in a black tailcoat with glittering stars on the cuffs. His voice sounded like velvety darkness: "Welcome to Circus Aurora, where the boundaries of reality blur like footprints in the sand!". The shows began - first juggling with flaming balls, then acrobats dancing in the air like birds. Each number was more unbelievable than the last, and the audience burst into applause time and again. Lena, intrigued by the peculiar artist with purple hair and silver eyes, decided to follow her backstage. Igor hesitated for a moment, but finally followed his friend. There was a completely different mood under the tent than in the arena - it was quiet, almost unnatural, and the lights glowed in strange colours. Lena and Igor noticed that some of the artists were talking to each other in whispers in an unfamiliar language, and there was a faint smell of metal and ozone in the air. At one point, a girl with purple hair turned suddenly, meeting Lena and Igor's gaze. "You shouldn't be here," she said in a low, melodious voice. "But since you've come.... maybe you'll have time to see something no one has ever seen before." Suddenly, the lights began to go out, and a hidden curtain was revealed at the edge of the arena, from behind which came strange, hypnotic sounds. Everything around them began to swirl, and time seemed to slow down its course. Lena and Igor looked at each other - they had the impression that they were on the verge of something completely new and unknown....
