Accidental Portal Guardians
The basement was cool and smelled of the dust of old books. Julia shouldn't have gone down here - the librarian had expressly forbidden exploration of the lower storerooms. But curiosity always won out over reason. In a whisper, she summoned Peter and Majka, who quietly closed the cellar door behind them.
At the end of the long corridor, a lone light bulb was burning. A strange oval shape emerged from its light - it resembled a mirror, but the reflection was blurred. Julia felt her heart beat faster as the surface of the 'mirror' suddenly began to swirl, revealing a hazy landscape of a completely different world.
- Is this a hologram? - Majka asked, but no one answered her.
Piotr, as if by magic, reached out his hand. As soon as he touched the surface of the portal, a pulsating glow surrounded all three of them. Their heads whirled, and then.... they felt the hard ground beneath their feet. Stunned, they looked around.

- Where are we? - whispered Julia, clutching the key ring in her hand as if it would give her courage.
Suddenly, they saw glittering symbols emerge beneath their feet - forming unknown words. The portal behind their backs disappeared. A figure in a cloak appeared in front of them, with its face hidden in the shadow of a hood. The figure raised his hand, pointing to a riddle engraved on the ground:
"Only he who learns his true name will discover the passage beyond."
The three friends looked at each other in disbelief and concern, while the mysterious being began to approach slowly, and the light around them dimmed....
