A case in the Old Clock
Ever since Milenka moved into the creaky old tenement on Cicha Street, she has felt a little uncomfortable there - especially since she noticed that the clock standing in the corner of the living room sometimes... moves the hands backwards. Her younger brother, Leon, was delighted with this find. Every day he tried to turn the hands, but nothing happened. Until today.
That evening, a storm raged outside the window and the light of the bulbs flickered every now and then. Milenka was reading a book under a blanket when Leon ran into the room with a wide smile.
- Look! The clock is glowing from inside! - he said excitedly.
Indeed, there was an unusual purple glow emanating from behind the old glass. Intrigued, they walked closer and noticed that there were mysterious symbols on the dial that had never been there before.
Leon, too curious for his age, turned the pointer to the unusual sign. The room swirled. Their bodies became light, the light from the clock spilled over the walls like a waterfall of colours. For a moment, everything was dark.
And then... they found themselves in a place Milenka had only read about in books! Instead of the familiar living room, they found themselves in a crowded street surrounded by horse-drawn carriages, people in strange costumes and shops with signs that looked like they had been taken out of the Middle Ages.
Milenka squeezed her brother's hand. - We have to go home! - she whispered frightened.
Leon looked around. - Just where is the clock? - he asked quietly.
Just then, a figure in a cloak stepped out from around the corner, holding in his hand... the familiar, glittering pendulum from their clock.
- Looking for a way back? - He asked mysteriously.
And in that moment, time seemed to stop. What would happen next...
