Like every morning, I slowly approached the school door, feeling the weight of the books and cheese sandwiches my mum had packed in my backpack. But as soon as I crossed the threshold.... I noticed that something was wrong. Silence. A strange, mechanical regularity. The sound of... buzzing? I looked around the corridor. Usually it was full of bustle, laughter, conversation and the sound of footsteps. But now? Just the quiet, rhythmic clatter of metal against the floor. My heart beat faster. The students walked in an even step, in an even line, in silence. Their heads gently shone.... they were made of metal! Small antennae protruded from their backs, and instead of normal eyes they had green glowing points. I walked closer to my best friend, Olek. - Olek? - I said cautiously. Olek paused, but did not move his head. His mechanical hand squeaked slightly as he lifted it, indicating room number 12. - LESSONS. START. BEING. NOW. - said in a strangely monotone voice. Something was very, very wrong. Was it a dream? An experiment? Or maybe... someone had turned the whole school into a robot factory? Only I wasn't turned.
