Station Horizon drifted at the edge of the Solar System, hidden in the shadow of Pluto's moon. Millions of kilometres from Earth, far from the din of human civilisation, only the quiet hum of life support systems reminded us that it was not a total void. Julia felt a chill before opening her eyelids. After thirteen years of hibernation, she was awakened by the whine of an alarm. She struggled to open her eyes - frost covered her hair and eyelashes. Through the transparent glass of the capsule, she could see the pale silhouettes of the other crew members lying motionless in the chambers. The automatic console flashed a red light. "Unplanned wake-up call. Status: critical." Julia felt her heartbeat quicken. Next to her, David, the flight engineer, and Maya, the artificial intelligence specialist, were also awake. They were all disoriented, struggling to recall the purpose of the mission - they were to reach the edge of the system and launch the next generation of the quantum telescope. They planned to sleep for the entire journey. The corridors were silent. The holographic assistance system was unresponsive. The doors to the command centre were locked. There was anxiety in the air, but also excitement. As Julia tried to open the door for the third time, a quiet mechanical rustling sounded from behind it. Suddenly, a message appeared on the control screen: "Something has arrived that we did not anticipate." A shadow appeared behind the thick glass of the station - a vague, pulsating form, as if made of light and mist. The airlock slowly began to pull apart, and an unfamiliar sound echoed through the corridors....
