Night of the Werewolves in Bialowieza

Night of the Werewolves in Bialowieza
The Bia這wie瘸 Forest stretched out with a dark wall behind the village, thick and smelling of wet earth. The elders used to say not to go between the oaks and lime trees after dark, especially on a full moon. However, no one took this seriously - except Peter, who learned the old customs from his grandmother. That night the moon was huge and bright. Piotr was sitting with three friends - Maja, Tomasz and Wojtek - by a campfire at the edge of the forest. They were sipping homemade honey when a tiny grey owl fluttered over their heads. - 'Spring must be coming,' joked Maja, but there was a slight anxiety in her voice. - Grandma used to say that on such nights the forest comes alive - said Piotr. - 'Werewolves then seek a way between worlds to meet humans. Wojtek snorted with laughter, but when a drawn-out, disturbing howl rang out among the trees, everyone grew colder. All four fell silent, listening to the sounds of the night. There was a rustling sound from far away, as if something large was sneaking through the bushes. - 'Maybe it's just a deer,' whispered Maja, but her eyes widened with fear. Thomas was the first to look towards the forest. The moon was reflected in the damp grass, creating glistening paths. The hairs on the back of Peter's neck turned auburn as he sensed something watching them. Two brilliant yellow eyes emerged from the shadows. The friends froze. The owls fell silent. From behind the trees emerged a silhouette large and powerful, moving with the grace of a cat. Its fur shone silvery and the figure had something human in the way it stopped at the edge of the light. A werewolf? Or just an animal from the shadows? Peter held his breath. The friends slowly backed away from the campfire, but were too fascinated to run. The animal stuck its muzzle out towards the moon and whined, and then a second red light flashed from deep in the forest - as if someone or something was waiting for an answer....
