The Lakeside School was a place where the usual rules didn't always apply - or at least that's what the older students claimed during school bonfires. It was Ada's first time spending the night in a boarding school and by now she felt a slight pressure in her stomach. She tried to drown out the anxiety by listening to the noises coming from the corridor. When the door creaked open and her new roommate, Nadia, entered the room, Ada immediately sensed her tension. - Do you fancy a night out? - Nadia asked, peering out of the window at the moonlit surface of the lake. They were joined by Igor, who wore headphones around his neck but could still hear everything that was going on around him. Together they set off through the dark, slightly too quiet corridor. They stopped on the second floor, where, according to rumours, there was a room where.... felt something. Some said the room could read emotions, others said it produced them itself. - Have you heard about this place? - whispered Igor, stroking the cool wall with his hand. Ada felt her heart beating faster. Nadia smiled nervously, but she was the first to grab the door handle. The door gave way silently and they stepped inside. The room was exceptionally cool, despite the summer night. The wallpaper had patterns resembling smeared faces. Somewhere in the back of the room, a green light blinked. At first nothing happened, but suddenly Ada felt sadness. So deep, as if someone had just lost their best friend. - I feel... terribly strange - she said, squeezing Nadia's hand. Nadia turned pale. Igor stepped back, and his eyes widened in horror. - I... feel anger. But it's not my anger. Then the lamp flashed harder, and the door behind them slammed shut with a bang.
