Clockmaker of the Street of Memories
A small, neglected clockmaker's workshop had stood on Memories Street for years. Its display was dusty, and behind the glass lay old clocks - covered in a layer of dust, like relics of a bygone era. Locals claimed that the clockmaker had disappeared without a trace and the workshop had become almost invisible to passers-by.
Ola, Maks and Jagoda - students of the nearby high school - decided one afternoon after lessons to check if the rumours about the workshop were true. Throughout their childhood, they had exchanged legends about a place where time stood still. But when the door gave way under their pressure, they felt a thrill of excitement and anxiety at the same time.
The interior of the workshop looked like a time capsule. The walls were lined with old posters and there was a smell of grease mixed with dust in the air. Everything seemed unnaturally quiet, as if behind a thick, invisible glass.
In the middle, under a glass dome, rested a huge clock with an unknown mechanism. Its dial was covered with strange symbols and the hands moved in opposite directions. Maks touched the cover gently, and at that moment all the clocks in the workshop started ticking simultaneously and striking different times, as if tearing the silence apart. Ola noticed that their phones were showing impossible dates - 1922, 2050, 1847. Berry read the inscription engraved on the clock's envelope in a trembling voice: "To go forward, you must look back".
Suddenly, the light flickered and the room swirled around them. Shadows of the past began to materialise beside them - silhouettes of people in costumes from different eras appeared, who seemed not to notice the teenagers. When the sound of banging clues subsided, the three friends discovered that they were no longer standing in a workshop, but on the cobblestones of an unfamiliar city, where time seemed to flow in a completely different way.
Maks looked at the clock in his hand - the hands were spinning faster and faster. In the distance they heard someone calling their names, and a mysterious figure with a golden key began to emerge from the mist....
