The silence of the city library was merely an illusion. In reality, the wanderings of thoughts hummed under the thick carpet, and the smell of old books and mysteries wafted through the air. Lena, Philip and Michael - three friends from university - were not here by chance. For several weeks, they had been sifting through old archives in their spare time, looking for traces of family secrets and legendary relics. One afternoon, as the sun struggled to break through the stained glass windows, Lena ran her fingers over the tattered cover of the book "Time and its Thieves". A tiny key fell out of it. - Look at this! - whispered Lena. Filip efficiently sunk between the shelves and found a small door hidden in the wall behind an encyclopaedia bookcase. Michal, always sceptical, did not protest this time. After a moment, the key opened the passage to the narrow staircase leading downwards with a quiet click. In the basement, a circular room awaited. In the centre was a huge clock, around which the cogs moved and the hands rotated continuously, although they did not follow any known hour. Shimmering shadows danced on the walls. Among them, the friends noticed something else - in the corner stood a figure in a black cloak, although no one had seen it here before. - Was it ... surely just a shadow? - whispered Michael, and Lena squeezed his hand. At the same moment, the clock made a deafening sound and the cogs began to spin faster and faster. Beams of light shot up from the floor, entwining them like a web. The figure in the cloak took a step forward. The door behind them slammed shut with a bang. The mysterious clock stopped abruptly and the world around them changed colours in an instant. Would the friends dare to touch the hand and see where the mechanism would take them? And who is the figure hidden in the darkness?
