Julka lived with her mum, dad and cat Purr in a small yellow house at the end of the street. She loved mornings when the kitchen smelled of cocoa and the sun drew funny patterns on the floor. One day, as Julka walked into the kitchen, she heard a quiet "pst!". She looked around carefully. Something had moved on the sideboard! Purr noticed it too and tuned his ears. Was it a mouse? Or was a playful elf hiding behind a large tea tin? Suddenly the teacups began to gently bounce and there were small, colourful footprints on the tabletop! Julka slowly walked closer, holding Purr in her arms. What was hiding in their kitchen and why did everything look so different from usual today? Just then she heard a mysterious giggle behind the sugar bowl....
