Susie finds a tiny blue door under her carpet and steps into a strange, colourful world with her cat Psotek.
Susie loved playing in her room, especially on rainy days when the playground was out of reach. She was building a tall tower of blocks when Psotek suddenly sprang up, meowing and scratching at the carpet.
Susie knelt beside her. One corner had lifted, just a little. Underneath it was a tiny blue door, shiny as a marble and just the right size for her hand. Psotek pressed close to her leg, purring as if this was the most exciting thing in the world.
Susie touched the little handle. The door swung open at once, and a bright swirl of light whooshed around her. She and Psotek spun through it together, and then everything went still.
When Susie blinked, she was not in her room anymore. Upside-down trees grew above her head. Soft clouds bobbed along the ground. Butterflies with smiling faces drifted past in slow little loops.
"Where are we?" Susie whispered.
A small purple dragon stepped out from behind a tree. It had round glowing eyes and tiny silver wings. It stared at Susie for a moment, then lifted one paw and pointed straight at the door behind her. Before she could turn around, the dragon did something completely unexpected...
