Little Zosia finds a strange clock in her grandfather's garden, and when she presses a button, she and Puffy the cat are whisked into a mystery from long ago.
Zosia loved visiting her grandfather Staszek. His garden felt like a treasure place, with fat curly pumpkins, red raspberry bushes, and a little bed where Puffy the cat liked to nap in the shade.
One warm afternoon, Zosia was digging small holes in the sand when something flashed under an old raspberry bush. She brushed away the leaves and pulled out a tiny clock. It had bright hands, shiny buttons, and little pictures on the sides: a dinosaur, a castle, a rocket, and a balloon.
Zosia carried it to her grandfather. Staszek's eyes widened. "You've found something very unusual," he said, smiling. "That clock can do more than tell time."
Zosia leaned closer. Puffy jumped up beside her and tapped the dinosaur button with one soft paw.
"What do you think it does?" Zosia whispered.
Before Grandfather could answer, Zosia pressed the button.
The garden spun. A cool wind brushed her cheeks. She heard odd bird calls, far louder than any sparrow in the raspberry bushes. Then the pumpkins and flowers vanished.
In their place was a thick, green jungle.
Zosia stared. Towering plants stretched all around her, and the air felt hot and heavy. Beside her stood a huge green dinosaur, blinking at her with curious eyes. Puffy gave a tiny yowl, then hurried behind Zosia's legs and peeked out again.
Zosia opened her mouth to say hello, but a new sound rolled through the leaves behind them. Something big was coming, moving fast through the ferns.
The dinosaur froze. Puffy's tail puffed up. Zosia clutched the little clock as the shadow drew closer and closer...
