Tosia finds an old wardrobe in her grandmother’s attic. Inside are sparkling lights, a tiny frog, and a door that begins to close on its own.
Tosia loved visiting her grandmother’s house because it was full of hidden corners and curious things. On a rainy afternoon, when the drops tapped hard against the attic window, she climbed the narrow stairs to look around.
The attic was crowded with boxes, trunks, and dusty chairs. Then Tosia stopped. In the far corner stood an old wooden wardrobe she had never seen before. Blue stars and golden moons were painted across its doors, and the paint seemed to shimmer in the gray light.

Tosia spun around. No one was there.
Her heart thumped, but her feet moved anyway. She pulled the wardrobe door open. Instead of coats and dresses, she saw twirling lights, bright as tiny stars, spinning in the dark.
Tosia took one careful breath and climbed inside.
The floor gave a small wobble under her shoes. Faint laughter floated around her, mixed with little whispery sounds she could not understand. Tosia blinked at the strange glow and called, "Hello? Who’s there?"
Then, from behind the shining lights, a tiny emerald frog hopped into view. It lifted one little paw and waved at her.
Tosia stared. Before she could ask a single question, the lights flared brighter and brighter, and behind her, the wardrobe door began to close very slowly....
