Tosia and the Secret Passage Under the Bed

Six-year-old Tosia finds a glowing portal under her bed and peeks into a strange world full of wonder and a voice calling her name.

Tosia had just lined up her favourite teddy bears on the shelf when the room fell quiet. Moonlight slid across the floor, pale and silver, and everything looked still.

Then something blinked under the bed.

Tosia froze. She crouched on the carpet and peered into the dark. Right where her stray sock usually disappeared, a tiny circle of light glowed on the floorboards.

She held her breath and reached out one finger.

The light was warm. Soft. It felt like touching a puff of cloud.

The circle gave a low hum, then stretched wide before her eyes. In a blink, it became a swirly door of bright colours, spinning blue, gold, and green.

"What is that?" Tosia whispered.

Fluffy, her favourite teddy bear, stared back at her with his round button eyes.

Tosia hugged him tight, then crawled closer. The colourful door shimmered like it was waiting. She took one brave step and poked her head through.

On the other side was the strangest garden she had ever seen. Butterflies glowed like tiny lanterns. The trees were covered in round, bouncy balloons. Even the stones were singing, soft and low, like a lullaby.

Tosia's mouth fell open.

Then a voice called out from somewhere deep in the garden.

"Hello, Tosia. We have been waiting for you!"

Tosia clutched Fluffy tighter. Someone was standing just beyond the shining trees, and the colourful door behind her gave a sudden, excited hum.
