In her wardrobe, Tosia finds a tiny starry door that opens into a whirl of colour and a pink rabbit who seems to know her name.
Tosia loved her room. On rainy days, she built tall block towers, lined up her soft toys, and curled up with her picture books.
That afternoon, she was playing hide and seek with her dad. She climbed into the wardrobe and tucked herself behind a row of jumpers. The air smelled like soap and wool. She was just settling in when her fingers brushed something cold in the back corner.
Tosia pushed the jumpers aside. In the wood, no bigger than her hand, was a tiny door. It shone like silver and had bright stars painted all around it.
Tosia held her breath. She touched the little handle and pulled.
The door opened with a soft click. Light spilled out in swirling ribbons of pink, gold, and blue. A sound like tiny bells floated through the gap. Then a pink rabbit with a blue hat hopped straight out of the glow and landed at her feet.
"Tosia!" said the rabbit, as if they already knew each other. "I've been waiting for you. Quick now - before the colours close!"
