Tosia finds a glowing button in the garden. When she presses it, a tiny spaceship appears. A green paw reaches out, and an invitation waits at the door.
Tosia loved her garden. She liked the warm soil, the carrot tops shaking in the wind, and the tiny paths she made between the bean plants.
One day, while digging a little hole for her carrots, her trowel hit something hard. Tosia frowned and brushed away the dirt. In her hand lay a small button, glowing softly like a star.
It was not a pebble. It was not a bead. It was not anything Tosia had ever seen before.
"What are you doing here?" she whispered.
The garden was very quiet. Even the leaves seemed to be listening.
Tosia held the button near her nose, then gave it the tiniest tap.
At once, the sky above her garden swirled with bright colours. Blue spun into gold. Gold flashed into pink. A little spaceship blinked into view with a soft hum, as if it had always been hiding behind the clouds.
It was shiny and round, with yellow and blue stripes. A small door slid open with a hiss.
Then a green paw reached out from inside.
"Hello, Tosia," said a voice from the ship.
Tosia stared at the glowing doorway. Her heart jumped. Who was waiting inside, and why had the button chosen her?
