Tosia finds a pair of pink slippers that make her feet light as air. But when she hears her teddy bear Stefan call for help, her first jump takes her straight into a strange backyard mystery.
Tosia lived at the end of a colourful street, beside an old oak tree with a trunk full of bumps and twists. One bright morning, when the sun was tickling her nose, she opened her wardrobe and found a pair of soft pink slippers covered in sparkly stars.
They were warm. They seemed to shimmer. And for just a moment, one of the stars blinked at her.
Tosia slipped them on.
Bzzzt!
Her toes tingled. Her feet felt light as balloons, so light that she gave a tiny hop and almost bumped the ceiling. She laughed and hopped again, this time straight over her bed.
One more hop sent her spinning out of her room and down the hall. The slippers whispered and buzzed under her feet, as if they were waiting for something big.
Then she heard a small cry from the backyard.
"Help!"
It was Stefan, her teddy bear.
Tosia rushed to the window and looked out. In the grass, Stefan was caught in the middle of something very strange, and just beyond him, near the old oak tree, something shiny moved and flashed in the sunlight.
