Tosia and the Lost Planet

Tosia and her kitten Rocket fly into space and find a green planet that keeps vanishing. When pink mist drifts from its surface, something strange begins to appear.

Tosia was six, and she loved everything about space. She loved stars that winked like tiny lamps, moons that glowed like silver cookies, and planets that rolled through the dark like bright marbles.

One day, Tosia and her kitten Rocket built a real rocket together. It was small and round, painted in cheerful colours, with shiny windows that caught the light. Rocket pressed his paws to the glass, and Tosia grinned as the engine gave a soft humming sound.

Up, up, up they flew into the night sky. Stars sparkled around them. A blue planet drifted below. A ring of dust shimmered like a scarf. Then Rocket’s ears shot up.

"Meow," he said softly, pointing with one paw. "Tosia, look!"

Far ahead, a green planet flickered in and out of view, as if it could not decide whether to stay. Now you saw it. Now you didn’t.

"A disappearing planet?" Tosia whispered.

They steered closer. When the rocket came near, a faint sound floated through the window.

Tick-tock. Tick-tock.

The rocket door creaked open by itself.

Pink mist rolled out from the green planet, soft as cotton candy. Tosia held her breath and looked at Rocket. The kitten’s whiskers trembled, but he gave one brave nod.

Then, through the pink mist, something began to appear...
