Tosia finds a tiny blue door hidden in her wardrobe and steps toward a strange garden full of wonders. Something on the other side knows her name.
Rain tapped softly at Tosia’s window while she built a tower from blocks and lined up her dolls on the rug. She was just starting to feel bored when she heard it again: a tiny knock from inside the wardrobe.
Tosia froze. The knock came once more, gentle and quick, like someone tapping with a fingertip. She pulled the wardrobe door open a little wider and blinked. There, tucked between her coats, was a small blue door that had never been there before.
It had a golden handle shaped like a curled leaf. The blue paint shimmered as if it had caught a piece of the sky. Tosia reached for the handle. When she opened the little door, a warm breeze slipped out and brushed her cheeks.
On the other side was the strangest garden she had ever seen. Purple trees swayed over a path of silver stones. Bright carrots jumped in the soil like little red feet were kicking them from below. Soft laughter floated through the air.
"Come on, Tosia," called a voice she could not see.
She took one careful step to the threshold.
Then a colourful rabbit in a tall hat popped up right in front of her and grinned. "At last," it whispered. "But before you go any farther, you should know this garden has been waiting for you..."
