Tosia and the Door to the Land of Colourful Clouds

When a tiny shining door appears in Tosia’s room, she steps into a world of floating colourful clouds and hears a mysterious laugh drifting through the sky.

Tosia was the kind of girl who noticed little things. A feather on the windowsill. A whisper in the curtains. A moonbeam on the floor.

One sunny afternoon, while Pooh sat beside her books, something new appeared between the shelves.

It was a small door, no taller than Tosia’s knees. It shone like polished gold, and tiny stars sparkled around the frame.

Tosia blinked. Then she gasped. "Pooh, look! Who put a door there?"

Pooh did not answer, but his button eyes seemed to stare very hard indeed.

Tosia reached out. The golden handle felt warm in her hand. She held her breath and turned it.

Creeeak.

The door swung open.

There was no wall behind it.

There was sky.

And not just any sky. A whole world of colourful clouds drifted beyond the door, puffing and bobbing like giant cotton sweets. Pink clouds floated over blue ones. Yellow clouds glowed like sunlight. Between them fluttered tiny singing butterflies, their wings flashing like rainbow confetti.

Tosia laughed in delight. She took Pooh’s paw and stepped through.

The cloud under her feet felt soft as a pillow. A gentle breeze tickled her nose. Somewhere far away, someone was laughing too.

Tosia turned her head. "Hello? Who’s there?"

The clouds parted just a little.

And in the bright, swirly distance, a shadow moved. It was long, and round, and far too quick to be a cloud.

Tosia squeezed Pooh’s paw.

The shadow came closer.
