Six-year-old Tosia finds a tiny glowing door in her room and steps toward a world full of wonder, laughter, and a strange voice that asks her a riddle.
Tosia was six, with bright red pigtails and a head full of brave ideas. She loved adventures most when the house was quiet and the sun made gold shapes on her bedroom floor.
That afternoon, she spotted something in the corner where her blocks usually sat. A tiny door stood there all by itself. It was no bigger than a doll's house door, and it shimmered with soft colours, as if a rainbow had been brushed right across it.
Tosia knelt down and touched the little handle. The door creaked open at once. A sweet smell drifted out, like bubble gum and flowers mixed together. Then Tosia heard soft laughter and saw that there was no wall behind the door at all. There was a whole other world.
Beyond it stretched a bright meadow dotted with hopping bunnies in blue hats and butterflies made of candy colours. Tosia held her teddy bear, Jas, close to her chest. "Come on," she whispered. She was just about to climb through when a voice, quiet and strange, floated out of the glow.
"Whoever enters the Rainbow Portal must solve the riddle first."
Tosia's fingers tightened around Jas. The tiny door gleamed brighter, and somewhere inside the rainbow light, something moved.
