Toothless lives in the sparkling City of Tooth Town. When strange sounds drift from a cave at the far end of town, he and the Clean Face team go to find out what is hiding there.
In the heart of Tooth Town, the houses gleamed white and the air smelled of mint. That was where Toothless lived, a small, bright tooth with a wide grin and a careful morning brushing routine. Every day, before he went out to play, he polished his enamel with a big toothbrush and hummed a happy little song.
Toothless never worked alone for long. Sparkle the pink toothbrush was quick and tickly, Green Toothpaste was cool and fresh, and Nemo was tiny enough to squeeze into the narrowest spaces. Together they were the Clean Face team, and they kept every smile in Tooth City bright and tidy.
One sunny afternoon, while Toothless played beside the fountain with its flowing mint water, he heard a soft murmur from the grotto at the edge of town. People whispered that the Spotted Bug sometimes hid there, and that he never liked toothbrushes one bit. Toothless went very still and listened. The sound came again, low and scratchy, like someone moving in the dark.
"Come on," he said at last.
Sparkle clicked on her tiny light, and the team followed the winding path toward the cave. They passed shiny little children who waved and asked where they were going, but Toothless only smiled and kept going. At the cave entrance, the scratching sound stopped.
Then something flashed deep inside the tunnel.
