Peter is whisked into the magical Teething Land, where cheerful Toothpickers rush to a secret cave and an odd sound stops everyone in their tracks.
One evening, just before bedtime, Peter stood at the mirror and brushed his teeth. He was making little circles with the bristles when his toothbrush gave a sudden flash of coloured light.
Peter blinked. The bathroom spun like a toy top. When it stopped, he was standing on soft, mint-green grass. Around him rose bright white houses shaped like teeth.
"Hello!" called a funny little creature with blue hair and white clothes. "I'm Dandelion. Welcome to Teething Land!"
Peter stared. All around him, cheerful Toothpickers ran across the grass, each one carrying a toothbrush. Instead of bags, they had silver floss wrapped over their shoulders. They laughed, hopped, and told jokes as they went.
Then Dandelion leaned closer and lowered her voice.
"Peter, something strange is happening today. We keep hearing sounds from the Tooth Cave. No one knows what's inside. We have to find out. But first, we must be very clean-toothed."
At once, the Toothpickers scattered to fetch their brushes, toothpaste, and floss. Peter's heart gave a quick thump. The minty air felt sharper now, and somewhere far ahead, deep under the white houses, a rumbling sound rolled through the ground.
Peter followed his new friends along the bright path, brushing more carefully than ever. The path curved toward the cave entrance, and just as they reached the last bend, they heard it again: a low, heavy murmur.
Peter stopped. Behind a tall white stone, something moved in the dark.
