When the circus arrives in town, Zosia and Staś meet Clown Teos and a strange blue suitcase that begins to wiggle, laugh, and slowly open.
One bright morning, a circus rolled into town and turned the meadow into a place full of wonder. A huge red-and-yellow tent rose under the blue sky, and the air smelled sweet with popcorn and candyfloss. Zosia gripped Staś’s hand, and both children stared with wide eyes.
Then a clown in a rainbow wig bounced over to them. His red nose shone like a cherry. “I’m Teos,” he said with a grin. “Would you like to see something amazing?”
Before they could answer, he set a big blue suitcase on the grass. Gold stars glittered on its sides.
“This suitcase keeps the circus’s silliest secret,” Teos whispered.
At once, the suitcase gave a tiny shiver. Then it jumped. Soft chuckling sounds came from inside, as if someone small and mischievous was giggling in the dark.
Zosia took a careful step forward. Staś pulled gently at her sleeve.
The suitcase shook again. Harder this time.
And then, very slowly, the silver clasps began to lift.
