The Secret Gate in Hania’s Garden

Hania discovers a hidden green gate in her garden. With Migotek beside her, she steps into a glowing world of mist, floating bridges, and tiny tree houses just as something stirs ahead.

Hania loved the garden behind the house. She knew the raspberries, the daisies, the warm stones near the path, and the butterflies that drifted through the air like tiny bits of sunshine.

One bright afternoon, while she was peering into the raspberry bushes, she saw something she had never noticed before. Half-hidden in the leaves stood a small green gate.

Hania stared at it. The gate had a round brass handle and a line of silver dots along the edge, as if it had been waiting a very long time to be found.

Then Migotek appeared beside her, his whiskers twitching. He gave the gate a careful sniff and made a soft, urging meow.

Hania reached out. The handle was cool in her hand. When she pushed, the gate opened with a long, sleepy creak.

Beyond it was not grass or fence or neighbour’s hedge. It was a shimmering purple mist, glowing softly like a dream. From the mist rose floating bridges, bright flowers that swayed in the air, and tiny houses tucked high in the branches of trees, like sweets in a shop window.

Hania held her breath. Migotek leaped onto the nearest bridge and looked back at her with shining eyes, as if he already knew the way.

Hania stepped through the gate. At once, the air smelled strange and sweet, and somewhere deep in the mist, something rustled again, very close this time....
