The Secret Door in Zosia's Garden

Zosia spots a hidden handle in the hedge and, with Maurice the cat, steps into a strange world full of silver trees, rainbow petals, and a mystery waiting just ahead.

Zosia loved her big green garden. She played there every day with Maurice, her fluffy cat, who followed her from flower bed to flower bed like a tiny shadow.

One bright morning, Zosia was peeking under the hedge when she spotted something odd. Half-hidden in the leaves was an old metal handle.

"Maurice, look!" she whispered.

Maurice sprang to her side at once, his tail puffed up with excitement. Zosia pressed her fingers around the handle and turned it gently.

At once, a little door appeared in the hedge.

Through the crack, Zosia saw shining coloured lights. She heard soft laughter too, as if someone very small was giggling just on the other side.

"Come on, Maurice," she said, hugging him close. "Let's see what's there."

Together they stepped through.

The garden vanished behind them. In its place stood a strange new world, where the trees had silver leaves and rainbow petals floated down like snow. Tiny houses lined the path, and hedgehogs in little hats were singing as they walked.

Zosia had just taken one more careful step when something flashed in front of her. She stopped. Maurice froze in her arms.

Then came a soft rustle from the grass right beside the path...
