Basia spots a glowing little door inside her wardrobe and finds a bright tunnel full of stars, butterflies, and a voice calling her name.
Basia loved her room, especially the quiet corner where her wardrobe stood. One afternoon, while lining up her teddies on the shelf, she noticed something that made her stop still.
Deep inside the wardrobe, a tiny door was shining.
It was no bigger than a book, with a round golden handle and a soft blue glow around the edges. Basia blinked once. Then twice. The door was still there.
"Teddy, come here," she whispered. "Look at this."
She hugged her plush bear close and climbed onto her tiptoes to see better. Teddy’s button eyes stared straight ahead, as if he knew a secret too.
Basia reached out. The little door felt warm under her fingers.
"Should we open it?" she asked Teddy.
Of course, Teddy did not answer. But Basia could almost feel him waiting.
She pulled the handle.
The door swung wide.
There was no back wall. No clothes. No dusty shelf.
Only a bright tunnel, swirling and shining like a sky made of light. Tiny stars spun through the air. Butterflies made of colour drifted past her nose. The whole wardrobe hummed softly, like it was breathing.
Basia held Teddy tighter.
A whisper floated out of the tunnel.
"Basia... come closer..."
Her heart gave a little jump. She leaned forward, just enough for her hair to brush the glowing edge of the door.
Then something moved in the tunnel.
Something was coming.
