Ola and Franek find a forgotten tree house in Grandma’s garden, and when they climb inside, the garden begins to change in the strangest way.
Ola and Franek loved exploring their grandmother’s garden. It was full of raspberries, bent old paths, and hiding places that seemed to wait just for them.
One afternoon, Franek slipped behind a thick currant bush and stopped so suddenly that Ola bumped into him.
“Look,” he whispered.
There, tucked between two branches, was a little tree house no one had noticed before. Its wooden steps were grey with age, and a tiny round window stared out from the leaves like a sleepy eye.
They climbed up carefully. The steps gave a soft creak under their feet.
Inside, the tree house smelled like dust and rain. There was a faded carpet on the floor, its colours still bright in places, and shelves crowded with books. Some had dragons on the covers. Some showed monsters with wide, funny teeth. One had a title in silver letters that Ola couldn’t quite read.
She reached for it.
The moment her fingers touched the cover, the air seemed to shimmer. The light in the tree house changed. Franek turned to the window and gasped.
“Outside,” he said.
The garden no longer looked ordinary. The flowers were swaying as if music was playing. Butterflies drifted past the window with wings that flashed gold. Even the old apple tree seemed taller, as if it had just woken up.
Then a shiny key rolled out from under the carpet and came to rest at Ola’s feet.
A soft laugh floated through the tree house.
Ola held her breath. Franek stared at the glowing key, and the little door behind them gave one slow, quiet knock....
