The Mysterious Purple Tent

Maja and Tymek visit a bright circus, where a magician in a glittering cape leads them toward a strange purple tent that is not on the map.

One bright morning, Maja and Tymek went to the circus with their grandmother. The big meadow outside the city was full of colour. Tents flashed red, yellow, and blue. Balloons bobbed in the air, candyfloss smelled sweet, and laughter floated all around them.

Maja clapped when the acrobats spun high above the crowd. Tymek giggled at the monkeys, and both children stared when a magician pulled not only rabbits from his hat, but a flutter of bright butterflies too. Even the lion, wearing a silly toadstool hat, seemed to be watching.

When the show ended, Maja and Tymek wandered to the edge of the circus square. That was when they saw it: a small purple tent tucked in the corner, half-hidden behind the others. It was not marked on the map. No one seemed to be going near it.

Then a magician in a glittering cape stepped into the doorway and crooked one finger at them. "Do you want to see something no one has ever seen before?" he whispered.

Maja and Tymek looked at each other. Their hearts beat faster as they took one careful step closer. The purple tent flap lifted by itself, and from inside came a soft, whispering sound... like someone speaking in the dark.
