Little hedgehog Johnny and his friends find a strange hidden entrance under an old oak tree. Something is waiting in the dark, and their adventure is only beginning.
In the middle of a green forest, under the wide branches of an old oak tree, lived a little hedgehog named Johnny. He loved long walks, crunchy leaves, and adventures with his friends Basia the squirrel and Frank the hare.
One bright morning, the three friends set off down a path dotted with sunshine. Leaves whispered under their feet, and the air smelled sweet and fresh. Johnny’s nose twitched happily. Frank hopped ahead, and Basia skipped from root to root.
Then Basia stopped so suddenly that her tail went still. She pointed at the ground.
"Look!" she whispered. "What’s that under the oak tree?"
The others hurried over. Between the roots, hidden in the moss, was a small round opening. None of them had ever seen it before. Cool air drifted out of it, carrying the smell of damp earth and something else Johnny could not name.
He leaned closer, just a little. The dark inside seemed to breathe.
A faint rustle sounded from deep within the burrow. Then a shadow moved across the wall, quick and silent.
Johnny stepped back. Basia clutched Frank’s paw. And from the darkness, something soft and strange began to come closer...
