The Lost Key in the Hundred Acre Wood

Antek and Lena find a tiny golden key in the woods and set off to find its lock. But when something rustles behind a tall bush, their search suddenly feels much bigger.

One warm day, Antek and Lena were playing in the Hundred Acre Wood. They skipped over roots, gathered bright leaves, and listened to the birds singing high in the branches. The squirrels darted above them like fuzzy little shadows.

Then Antek stopped. Under a broad green leaf, something glinted in the sun.

He knelt down and lifted a tiny golden key. It was warm from the light, and on its handle was a small heart. Fine little marks were etched along the metal, as if the key had a secret all its own.

"Look, Lena!" Antek whispered. "Who do you think lost it?"

Lena bent close and held out her hand. "Maybe it opens a fairy door," she said. "Or a chest full of treasure."

Antek tucked the key into his palm. "Then we have to find the lock."

They started between the trees, peering into hollow logs and under low bushes. The wood seemed different now, as if it were waiting for them to notice something.

Then came a soft rustle.

It came from behind a tall bush near the path.

Antek and Lena froze. The golden key felt suddenly heavy in Antek's hand.

Something was moving there.
