Susie finds a tiny rainbow door beside her bed. When she opens it, she hears laughter, sees balloons, and feels herself float toward a world she has never seen before.
One bright morning, Susie woke in her colourful room and blinked at the bed beside her. There, where there had been only wallpaper the night before, stood a tiny door.
It shone with rainbow light. Its golden handle looked like a star. Susie tiptoed closer. When she touched it, her fingers tingled. She pressed her ear against the wood and heard soft laughter, a faraway jingle, and the whisper of something waiting.
Susie held her breath. Was there a place full of flying cats? A forest made of sugar trees? She turned the star handle. The door creaked open, and a swirl of balloons floated out into her room. Then Susie’s toes lifted off the floor. She gasped as the air pulled gently at her dress, and beyond the door something bright and strange began to glow.
