Susie and Fafik on the Moon Rock

Susie and her dog Fafik ride a tiny rocket to a bright, colourful planet, where a strange sound behind a glowing Moon Rock starts a new adventure.

One evening, Susie stood by her bedroom window with her telescope pressed to her eye. Below her, Fafik padded in circles and gave a happy bark at the sky.

Then a star flashed brighter than all the others.

Susie gasped. "I wish we could fly there," she whispered.

At once, a soft buzz filled the room. In the corner, something silver blinked and shone. A tiny rocket no bigger than a toy car rolled forward, its lights blinking red, blue, and gold. A door clicked open.

"Come along," it seemed to say.

Susie looked at Fafik. Fafik looked at Susie. Then, with one quick hop, they climbed inside.

The rocket was small, but it felt cosy. On the control panel was a button with a smiling moon. Fafik pressed it with his paw.

Whoosh!

The rocket shot up past the roof, past the clouds, past the sleepy moon, and into a glittering path of stars. They sparkled like tiny sweets spilling across the dark.

At last, the rocket dipped down onto a strange new planet. Purple rocks shimmered in the light. Round pebbles glowed softly like lanterns. Everything looked bright and wobbly, as if the whole place were made for jumping.

Susie took one careful step outside. Fafik's ears pricked up. From behind a huge Moon Rock, they heard a sound.

Chirp-chirp-chirp.

Something small was moving back there.
