Star Dog Max and the Blue Footprints

Lena and her dog Max find glowing footprints in the garden and follow them to a mysterious object from the stars.

Lena loved the quiet of her garden at night, especially when Max was with her. His ears twitched at every little rustle, and his tail made a soft thump-thump against the grass.

One evening, under a sky full of bright stars, Lena stopped in her tracks. On the lawn, right between the bean rows and the flower bed, were tiny blue footprints. They shone as if someone had stepped there with moonlight on their shoes.

Max gave a happy bark and dashed ahead. Lena hurried after him with her torch held high. The blue prints led past the apple tree, around the compost bin, and behind the currant bush at the far end of the garden.

There, tucked in the shadow of the leaves, was a round glowing object. It was cold when Lena touched it and lighter than it looked. It hummed very softly, almost like a sleepy bee.

Max leaned in to sniff it. The hum grew louder.

Then the object gave a tiny shake, lifted off the ground, and hovered in the air beside Lena’s hand.
