Secret Meeting in Olek's Backpack

At night, the school things in Olek's backpack wake up and whisper about a daring trip beyond the bedroom. But when the zipper stirs and the door begins to move, their adventure turns into a mystery.

Olek's room was quiet as a mouse. Moonlight spilled across the floor, and a bright backpack sat on a chair like it was waiting for something.

Then came a tiny giggle.

"Sss... is everyone awake yet?" whispered the green crayon.

The notebook paper rustled and bent its corner. "I am now. I was waiting all evening."

"And me! And me!" chirped the sharpener, spinning once in place.

One by one, the objects inside the backpack woke up. The pen stood tall and gleamed in the dark.

"I have an idea," it said. "Tonight we go outside the backpack. We can look around Olek's room. Maybe even sneak to the kitchen. Or the garden."

The eraser wobbled. "What if Olek wakes up? What if we get lost?"

The pencil lifted its tip proudly. "We can't stay here forever. Who's coming?"

Before anyone could answer, the zipper gave a soft twitch.

Shhhk.

Every crayon, page, and pencil went still.

The zipper moved again, slow and careful, and a thin whisper floated through the dark.

"Someone is opening the door..." it said. "And I don't think it's Olek."
