Zosia and Franek find a strange note in the park and start searching the old oak tree for a hidden secret.
On a bright day in the park, Zosia and her little brother Franek were playing hide-and-seek beneath the huge old oak tree. Zosia crouched behind the trunk, holding her breath, when something near her shoe caught the light. She reached down and lifted a tiny folded note from under a leaf.
She opened it carefully. Inside was a little map, drawn with wobbly lines and arrows. The arrows all pointed to the old oak tree. Beside it were a small key and a star.
Zosia showed it to Franek. "Look," she whispered. "What do you think it means?"
Franek's eyes grew wide. "It has to be a secret treasure map!" he said.
The two children hurried to the tree and began searching. Zosia tapped the bark. Franek peered into a hollow. They looked behind roots, under moss, and into every crack they could find.
Then, from deep inside the old oak, came a soft rustle.
Zosia froze. Franek stopped smiling.
Something was moving in the dark hollow....
