Kacper and his cat Luna spot something strange hiding under the bed. When the shadow moves, Kacper is not sure if he should call for his mum or look closer.
Kacper liked to fall asleep with the little lamp glowing softly beside his bed. Its warm light made the room feel safe. Every night, Luna curled up against his legs and purred herself to sleep.
But this night felt different.
When Kacper’s mum kissed him good night and closed the door, Luna lifted her head at once. Her ears twitched. She stared at the dark gap beneath the bed, then crept closer on quiet paws.
Kacper watched her. "What is it, Luna?" he whispered.
Then something moved.
A shadow slid across the floor, quick as a blink. The lamp light wobbled. Kacper sat up straight. He stared at the space under the bed, where the darkness looked deeper than before. Two tiny lights flashed there for just a second, like eyes opening and closing.
Luna gave a small, worried meow and reached one paw under the bed.
Kacper held his breath. The room seemed very still. Even the lamp felt dimmer now.
He leaned forward, peering into the black space beneath the bed. The two little lights blinked again, closer this time. Kacper’s heart thumped hard.
Something was under there. And it was moving.
