Mysterious Meadow and the Vanishing Butterflies

Ala and her rabbit friend Fluffy discover a meadow full of magic, where bright butterflies begin to vanish one by one. Then a tiny voice calls for help from the flowers.

Ala loved the meadow behind her house. It smelled of warm grass and sweet flowers, and the sky above it always seemed a little bigger there. One bright morning, she went in with Fluffy, her white rabbit friend, hopping at her side.

At first, the meadow sparkled with colour. Butterflies drifted over the blossoms in swirls of blue, gold, and red, as if someone had scattered pieces of a rainbow across the air. Fluffy twitched his nose and made a tiny jump, trying to catch one with his paw.

Then the music of the meadow stopped.

The butterflies slowed. One after another, they faded away, not falling, not flying off, just melting into the air like soap bubbles popped by an unseen finger. Ala froze. Fluffy pressed close to her leg.

She turned in a circle, searching the flowers. Was this a trick? A spell? The grass rustled, and a thin silver mist began to creep between the stems.

Then, from deep under a big violet bloom, a small voice whispered, “Help us, please!”

Ala leaned down. Fluffy peered beside her. The mist curled higher, and somewhere in the flowers, something tiny and hidden gave one sharp, frightened flutter.
