Lena discovers a magic blanket that can make her invisible. When a strange sound drifts in from the garden, she tiptoes outside to find out what is waiting there.
One sunny morning, Lena was playing in her room when she noticed a strip of bright, colourful blanket poking out from under the bed. It had not been there before.
She tugged it free. The blanket was softer than a cloud and so light it almost floated in her hands.
Lena lifted it over her shoulders.
At once, she looked down at her fingers. They had vanished.
Lena gasped, then covered her mouth so she would not laugh too loudly. She was invisible.
She tiptoed to the kitchen. Her mum was busy with breakfast, humming to herself, and she walked right past Lena without seeing her. Even Purrs, the cat, only twitched his ears and kept on stretching in the sunshine.
Then Lena heard it.
A strange rustling sound drifted in from the garden.
She froze. The invisible blanket slid softly against her arms as she crept to the back door and opened it a little bit.
Outside, near the rose bushes, something shimmered and moved.
