Johnny and the Secret Umbrella

On a rainy afternoon, Johnny finds a bright umbrella under a bench and discovers it may be hiding a very unusual secret.

Johnny loved the park near his house, especially after rain. The grass shone dark and glossy, and little puddles winked between the paths.

That afternoon, something bright was poking out from under an old bench. Johnny knelt down and pulled it free. It was a colourful umbrella with yellow spots, and he had never seen one like it before.

When he opened it, the umbrella felt as light as a feather. A soft breeze swooshed around him. Leaves lifted off the ground and spun in a little dance. Then a quiet giggle floated out from inside the umbrella.

Johnny stared. At the very tip, a tiny face in a blue hat peeked out and smiled at him. “Johnny,” it said in a squeaky voice, “do you like surprises? This umbrella knows more tricks than you think.”

Johnny’s mouth fell open. He was just about to ask what that meant when the umbrella gave a sudden tug in his hands, and the clouds above the park began to swirl.
