Franek finds a tiny green hood in the garden, and the ordinary garden begins to whisper and glow when he puts it on.
One bright morning, Franek dashed through the garden with Łatek racing at his heels. He was laughing and not watching where he stepped, until something green caught his eye under the old gooseberry bush.
It was a little hood. Soft, neat, and bright as spring leaves. It looked as if it had been made for a tiny elf. Franek crouched down and looked all around the bushes, the fence, and the flower beds. No one was there. Not a fairy. Not a gnome. Not even a lost bird.
Franek picked up the hood. It felt warm in his hands, as if it had been waiting for him. He glanced at Łatek, grinned, and put it on his head.
At once, a tickly feeling fluttered inside his ears. The garden changed. The butterflies seemed brighter, the grass rustled like it was whispering secrets, and Łatek stared at Franek with very serious eyes, as if he suddenly understood everything.
Franek took one slow step forward.
Then a tiny voice brushed against his ear and whispered, "Hello, owner of the magic hood..."
