Cuba finds a tiny hidden door in his room, and beyond it waits a glowing forest full of strange little creatures.
Cuba loved his room. It was full of blocks, cars, and teddy bears, and he could spend hours building tall towers on the floor.
One afternoon, while he was stacking the last block on top, he heard a soft knock.
Cuba froze.
He looked at the doorway. No one was there.
Then he noticed something new behind the wardrobe: a small wooden door, no bigger than a suitcase. It had not been there before.
Cuba took a careful step closer. On the door hung a shiny golden handle, and beside it, tucked into the wood, was a tiny key.
He glanced at his favourite teddy bear, Adas.
"Shall we go in?" he whispered.
Adas said nothing, as always, but Cuba felt certain he wanted to come too.
Cuba put the key into the lock. Click.
He turned it slowly and pushed the door open.
A bright green glow spilled into the room. Behind the door was a forest made of glittering trees, their leaves shining blue and gold. Flowers trembled and laughed softly in the grass. Tiny silver creatures leapt from branch to branch, flashing like sparks.
Cuba held Adas tightly by the paw and stepped inside.
Then, from behind a tree covered in silver moss, a whisper floated out:
"Help us, quickly!"
Cuba stopped. Something moved in the glowing shadows, and he stared at it, wide-eyed.
