Little Zbyszek searches the colourful park for his missing smile and hears strange little sounds along the way.
In the middle of a bright park, where the trees wore purple leaves and the clouds drifted like pink sugar, little Zbyszek ran along the path with a very serious face.
He had lost his smile sometime that morning, and no matter how hard he looked, it was nowhere to be found. His mother had pointed toward the huge rainbow tree and said that sometimes feelings liked to hide there. So Zbyszek went straight there, listening to the birds singing in the branches and watching butterflies flutter past like tiny dancing flags.
Near a hollow oak, he met Helen the owl. She tilted her head and asked, "Why do you look so sad?"
Zbyszek only shrugged and kept walking. Maybe his smile had slipped under the soft grass. Maybe it had flown up with the birds. Maybe it was sitting somewhere very still, waiting for him to find it.
Then, just as he reached the rainbow tree, he heard a quiet giggle behind the bushes.
Zbyszek stopped. The giggle came again, even softer this time, and something bright and small moved in the leaves...
