A Journey on a Flying Carpet

Anne finds a magical carpet under her bed and is whisked high above the clouds toward a mysterious castle.

One bright morning, Anne decided her room needed a proper tidy. She pushed boxes aside, knelt down, and reached under the bed. Her fingers brushed something soft and dusty.

She tugged it out and gasped. It was a tiny carpet, all swirls of red, blue, gold, and green, with a starburst pattern shining like fireworks. Along one edge, small gold letters were stitched into the thread: "Say: Carpet, fly high!"

Anne leaned closer and whispered the words. At once, the carpet gave a gentle shiver and rose into the air. Anne squealed and clutched its edge as it slipped out through the open window and floated higher and higher. Soon the clouds looked like piles of sweet white candyfloss. A cat in a little hat sailed past with a wink, and a flock of birds sang a twinkly rainbow tune as they swooped overhead.

Then Anne saw it: a huge castle balanced on a cloud ahead. Its silver towers glinted in the sun, and golden doors shone like treasure. Lights flickered behind the windows, one by one, as if someone inside had just noticed her coming. The carpet slowed, drifted toward a soft cloud, and came to a stop right in front of the castle door...
